The Decision That Changed My Life

February 26, 2016

Do you ever sit and wonder about how much life would be different if you had changed just the tiniest bit of your life? What if the one small decision one day is what lead you to where you are now? I wrote previously about how I wouldn’t change anything (read that here)  and I wouldn’t but let me tell you how different everything would be.

Liebster Award

February 25, 2016

So if you are a fan on Facebook or my twitter, which given I still have zero idea of what I am doing on there, you will know that I was nominated by Pop Goes Perfection . Be a doll and check out this beautiful lady! She is another southern momma like myself and does great reviews and awesome giveaways!

If you have never heard of The Liebster Award, it is an award sent from bloggers to bloggers! It is a great way for the newly blogging group to build a network, friends, and readers. It’s also showing that we are all in this together, and to help support each other! If you want any more information the official page for it is here: The Liebster

Thankful Thursdays

February 18, 2016

Hello, lovelies. I hope that your week has been great, and that the next two days will be fantastic as well. I wanted to start a weekly thankful day. Many times we are so caught up in life, or so busy with the “what we don’t have’s” that we don’t take the time away that we need to just be thankful for the things that we do have.

So what is this little owl thankful for today?

Five Ways to Keep a Marriage Strong

February 15, 2016

Relationships are hard. Marriage is even harder. Adding children into the mix, is even more difficult. It is very important for those with and without children to make sure that they are taking time to build their relationship with their significant other. How many times have I heard, “We talk all the time, but we don’t communicate. I just don’t feel connected to them anymore”? I wanted to explore ways that a couple can get reconnected even after the children are there.

I Let The House Be Messy Today

February 8, 2016

I decided for my house to be messy today. I made this decision. It was mine alone. The dishes in the sink from the previous nights supper (dinner for non southern people) still sitting there and staring at me with judgmental glares. The dust that’s collected in a days times on the picture frames, and the broom still sitting in its nest. I didn’t pick them up. I didn’t even give them a second thought. Not today.

My May-December Marriage

February 2, 2016

It has come to my attention that apparently I am in a May December Relationship. I wasn’t aware until someone told me. But if you are more then 11 years apart, you have one. May standing for the “spring of life”, and December meaning the “winter of life”. Which is really morbid and sad, but nonetheless I’ll add that to my list of labels for myself: mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, may December person…. Or something like that. I’ll have to work on it.

It’s true. My husband and I are 16 years apart. Yes, that means that when he was 16 and driving a car, I was being born. Yay me. Yes that means that when I was 23, I married a 39 year old. Yes that means a lot of strange looks, strange comments, and a lot of people who feel the need to tell me their opinions. That’s okay. Everyone has one. But I wanted to say a few things from my point of view, and let the world know a little more about how our marriage works.
