What a shame to have wings and never fly.
I’m not 100% positive where I found this quote, but it was
years ago when I did. It spoke so much to me, that I still remember all these
years later. I think it spoke to me so much because of the lack of self
confidence I have in myself.
Over the years, I’ve had many people tell me how good I was
at something: writing, crocheting, finances, and even sewing. But I myself have
never found myself “good” at anything. I mean I’m okay at stuff, but good? I
would never say that. I am that person with wings, the one who doesn’t find my
wings as being able to lift me. I would rather walk on the ground then take the
chance at being able to fly. Once I found this quote, I try to remind myself of
it when I feel this way. I’m
working everyday on building myself up, getting out of my comfort zone and
going in the direction that the Lord is taking me. I’m learning to have more
faith in him, and know that he is leading me while I try not to fall-but if I
do, he’ll be right there with loving arms to catch.
How awful of a life is it to have these glorious, beautiful
wings and never use them? It’s a life wasted, a life without reason, and
honestly the life I don’t want to have. If you have that want and talent to do
something, then I’m telling you to do it. Don’t live in the world of what if.
You all know what I’m talking about, “What if I fail?” “What if I make a fool
of myself?” “What if I’m terrible at it?”
Stop it with the self doubt! Just go for it! How will you ever know if
it will be worth it if you don’t try.
Don’t sit on the ground admiring those that are flying,
spread your wings and fly right along with them!

The first step starts with trusting and believing in yourself. Then, when you love yourself, others will follow.
ReplyDeleteLove this post! It reminds me of Lana Del Rey's quote "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I hope that I don't have a single bit of talent left, and say, I used everything you gave me." That's my life goal.
ReplyDeleteI love Lana Del Rey & happened to have one of her songs played during my wedding!!
DeleteIt's true, as it is a shame for all people with potential to do things that never take chances or have the opportunity to pursue them. If you do then it's best to take it!
