Rachel's Day In The Garden Book Review

I had the opportunity to read and do a review on “Rachel’s Day In The Garden” by  Giselee Shardlow.   Giselle Shardlow is the author of Kids Yoga Stories. Her yoga books for kids get children learning, moving, and having fun. Giselle draws from her experiences as a teacher, traveler, yogi, and mom to write the yoga stories found at www.kidsyogastories.com/store or on Amazon(amazon.com/author/giselleshardlow) worldwide. The purpose of her yoga books is to foster happy, healthy, and globally educated children. She lives in Boston with her husband and daughter. Here is the synopsis of the book before I begin:  “Join Rachel as she and her adorable puppy look for signs of spring in the garden. Crawl like a caterpillar, buzz like a bee, and flutter like a butterfly. Discover spring, explore movement, and learn the colors of the rainbow! Age group: Preschoolers ages 3-6.”

This adorable little book is a great teaching tool to get young kids more into yoga. As a mom, yoga has always been something that interest me. I love it, when I get the chance. I was so excited to show Monkey, who is four, this book so that he could do the stretches along with Rachel.

He loved it! It was so easy to follow along and would do the stretches that he could see on the page, while I read it. They were simple and easy for him to understand, even by himself as he just flipped through.  The illustrations of this book, I seriously can’t speak enough about. They are beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous! I recommend this book to any mother who wants to get her child more involved in yoga. It is beautiful and I think it is marketed to the perfect ages.  I think it is also easy to integrate into a “mommy and me” session with you and your little one. We did it, and had a blast working through the different poses.
