To The Woman Having Hard Times

We have all heard the expression, “when it rains, it pours”. How true this saying is, or at least it is true when you are in the middle of the storm.  As a woman today, life is so hard.  While we have the greatest technology in nearly 40 years today there are some downfalls to all of it. (It’s funny that I should say this, considering my business is online but you get my point.)

Because of it all, women are so busy. We are working in and out of the homes, raising the children, and worrying about finances. We have fears of leaving our homes, and fears of staying inside. The world has become a scary place, a dangerous place. Not so many years ago, we could leave our doors unlocked.

So when I say I understand you are stressed out, I get it. I totally get it! Life is tough. When you are a mom, it makes it even tougher, because not only did you have stress before, but also you now have little humans depending on you. So I know you are wondering  “How do I keep going?”, “Why did God put me through these burdens.”, “Is God even listening to my problems anymore, and should I just give up?”

One of my favorite books of the bible is Esther. It has been since I was a child. Truth be told, what little girl doesn’t love a story about a common girl becoming a princess? That was all I could see it was about for many years growing up. But it is so much more now.  I could talk about Esther’s awesome faith, because boy did she have some. But instead I want to direct your attention to a favorite verse of mine:

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

There are several things about this verse that gives me the “chillys” (goosebumps…but Monkey likes to call them this instead).  You could continue doing what you are doing and moping about how bad life is for you right now. You can continue to feel as if the Lord does not care and love you, but that is not true. Changing your mindset will completely change your life.  You are here for a purpose. A God given purpose. It’s not always fun, but you were put here and in that place for a reason.  He has placed you in that restaurant, that support group, or even at your office for a reason. Search it out. Pray for help in finding out that purpose. I can promise you, he does love you and has a plan for your life.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

I’m sure Esther wondered “Why me”, even if it was just for a split second or two. She probably was afraid, but that didn’t stop her from seeking out the Lord’s plans for her. She was put in that position because God willed it to happen, he knew what laid in store for her people and he had a way to fix it.  Yes, others could do it, but God wants YOU to do it.

Exodus 9:16 is another favorite of mine that goes along with this, “But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the Earth.”

There you have it folks, he has a plan for you.  Be the change you want to see, be the change that God wants you to be. Life does and will get better when you have the faith to get through the bad days.  Should we flash back to Jonah, do you think that it was his favorite idea to get swallowed? No, but with the help of God he got back on his feet, dusted them off and went to go do God’s work.

Life will get better. It won’t always be this way. You are working through the tough spots right now, but you will understand them one day. They are making you a stronger warrior in the army of God. You can get through this time, and when you are in doubt it just means that God wants you to call on him. He wants to be that rock for you, he wants to be the shoulder you can cry on. He doesn’t give you these trials to make you farther from him, oh no, but to draw you closer. After all if everything was great, would you be thankful for what you do have? Would you still remember who blessed you with those gifts? Maybe. But more than likely probably not.

Write these verses down, read them everyday. Remind yourself that you have a purpose! You are beautiful and capable, and while yes it may be hard try to find that rainbow in the sky and remember that God has a plan for you.

  2. DeAnna, Thank you for the reminder that He is always there with us through our trials and tribulations, and He will never forsake us! I have placed over my desk a post-it that reads, "Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul." Psalm 143:8 A reminder of my dependency on His word and guidance!

    All the best,
    Robin
